The California fires have been devastating this weekend. Thousands of acres and hundreds of homes have been destroyed. The one bit of good news, so far, is that human life has been lost. This morning as I watched the news, a young man stood by the ashes of all his earthly treasures confidently declaring that rather than being sad, his thoughts were focused on the opportunity this disaster afforded him to rebuild. “Ill find a place to live for the time being as I make plans for an upgraded, new home,” he told the reporter confidently.
